We search for tigers in Ranthambore National Park, leopards in the remote areas of southern Rajasthan and the only remaining lions outside of Africa in Gir National Park, Gujarat. This tour is not all about wildlife. We also get a fascinating insight into the customs of tribal rural village life and climb up the Jain temples in Palitana. Add to this the dramatic marshland of Kutch, home to the Indian Wild Ass. We cross high mountain passes with stupendous vistas and travel to remote villages close to the border with Pakistan. Temples, Tigers and Tribes of Central India

This tour combines visits to ancient temple cities with two outstanding wildlife sanctuaries at Bandhavgarh and Kanha in central India. Bandhavgarh is famous for its healthy population of Bengal tigers but it also has a wide range of other game including nilgai (blue bull), jungle cats, wild boar and hyenas. Kanha’s gorgeous forest also offers good chances of spotting the majestic tiger and other wildlife including leopards, Indian bison, deer and blackbuck. It is a stunningly beautiful park. You also visit the small town of Orchha, with its magnificent palaces and temples, and Khajuraho famed for its erotic sculptures. Round off your journey with a visit to Bhoramdeo, a village beside an 11th Century temple complex in north-western Chhatisgarh, an area far off the beaten track and ideal for exploring the life of India’s aboriginal tribes.

The Last Frontiers of India - Nagaland Hornbill Festival

On this small group tour we journey to this remote and inaccessible region which borders Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, as well as Burma, to experience the Hornbill Festival, an annual inter-tribal festival that promotes the cultural heritage of Nagaland. Join with the local tribes as they celebrate with traditional arts, dances, folk songs, and games set amidst immaculate replicas of tribal hutments.
