Congo River Expedition
Congo River Expedition
What do our clients think of our small group adventure holidays?
The Democratic Republic of Congo is a country that offers a fantastic landscape and very nice people especially along the Congo river. But after years of dictatorship and civil war the infrastructure is in a very bad condition and corruption is a daily experience... Your local team were perfect. It was a unique experience in a wonderful setting you will never forget! This had been my second trip on the Congo river with Undiscovered Destinations - and surely not my last one.

DRC would be a very challenging country for a solo traveller (very poor infrastructure, unreliable airline schedules etc). Your local team were extremely efficient and professional and made the trip very pleasant and stress-free.

We are now back at home after a wonderful trip to Congo and Uganda. Thank you so much for all your help in providing what has been one of our best holidays. The overland trip from Kisangani to Bunagana was well worth taking and enhanced enormously our appreciation of DRC. We are particularly grateful for your suggestions concerning this aspect of the trip.
Our guide in Uganda, Matia, was excellent – humorous, considerate, and willing to accommodate our change of plans. Watching the wildlife in Uganda provided the ideal conclusion to our journey.
It is impossible to believe that we shall be able to take a holiday next year that will come even close to matching our recent experience. You really did organise a fantastic trip. Needless to say, when we start thinking about next year’s holiday, you are bound to hear from us.

The Congo river trip was amazing, camping near villages and meeting the local people was a wonderful experience.

All crew on board were brilliant! Despite a few problems/delays in last few days I had a great time. Would I do it all again – you bet.

Amazing villages – I was the first tourist to visit some of them. Children ran away as they had never seen a white person.

I have had the most marvellous time. I was made to feel safe and comfortable in what is clearly a dificult environment. The boat was heaven. The crew were kind and welcoming and as far as I could see pretty good at their jobs. Food was good and plentiful. Everyone always ready to solve any problem I had. I was thoroughly spoilt.

The crew and the expedition leader Michel did an amazing job. The tents were good, the food tasty and the boat comfortable. The challenges we faced were handled with bravado and great flexibility. Encountering and interacting with people in the villages and in the canoes was a true highlight.
