Holidays and Tours

Egypt is a country that is full of internationally acclaimed historical sites which span back an incredible 6,000 years. Travellers have long been drawn by its vast swathes of heritage which remain brilliantly preserved. From the earliest Old Kingdom sites of Saqqara and Dashur, to the New Kingdom capital of Luxor and the Valley of the Kings, for many the country is a living museum full of unique treasures.

The capital Cairo is the largest city in Africa, and is full of captivating places to visit such as the Egyptian Museum and the Saladin-era Citadel. It’s the gateway for exciting adventures not just in Egypt but beyond across the continent.

Getting a flight to Africa’s largest city is easy – it’s well connected with links from countries around the world. But nothing beats the thrill and excitement of reaching a destination by land and sea. In 1989 the famous British actor and explorer Michael Palin set off from London with a goal to travel around the world in 80 days or less – without taking a single flight. With seemingly little luggage and an inflatable globe tucked under his arm, Michael arrived on the African continent thanks to Adriatica Line’s Espresso Egitto  – a weekly ferry that sailed from Italy and Greece to Alexandria which was eventually withdrawn in 1995. Today travellers can once again reach Egypt by land and sea on one of our pioneering tours. A continent packed full of adventure awaits, including Egypt’s southern neighbour Sudan, just a train and ferry ride away.

Andrei was excellent and contributed enormously to success of trip. We got to places that we wouldn’t have done on our own. The itinery was excellent and in fact I chose trip because this was most comprehensive on market in UK. It was a good mix of different places, areas and experiences.

Why visit Egypt?

As Europe‘s least densely populated country, and as an island long isolated from the rest of the world, Iceland may seem like a strange choice of destination. But this a land of glaciers, hot springs, waterfalls and lava fields and with a largely unspoiled and surreal landscape it is a nature lover’s paradise. With miles of scenic roads which circle the country it is an ideal destination for self-drive trips. Stop along the way and get up close to thundering waterfalls and erupting geysers and take in a glacier walk.
