At the time of writing most visitors from Europe and North America no longer require a visa to visit to Ukraine, for a tourist stay of up to 90 days.
Kiev is well served with direct flights from many European capitals. In addition the western city of Lviv, as well as the port city of Odessa, on the Black Sea, are both served with convenient connecting flights via Vienna or Warsaw, without the need to travel via Kiev.
Although there are no specific vaccinations required for the Ukraine, it is recommended that visitors should be up to date with tetanus and diphtheria, typhoid and hepatitis A. As with travel to any of our destinations we ask that you check with your doctor’s surgery or a specialist travel clinic for professional advice.
We have a legal obligation to stress the absolute need to have adequate travel insurance, which should be taken at the time your trip is confirmed. These days there is a huge range of options available and premiums have never been more competitive. Increasingly annual multi-trip policies offer good value for money, but you should compare the level of cover and the activities included with each policy. Please contact us for further details.
We constantly monitor the advice posted by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). In particular we will always advise clients of any travel warnings. At the time of writing the Foreign Office does not have any specific travel warnings in place for travel to Ukraine. It should be noted that this information applies to British citizens. Other nationals are asked to check the current position of their respective Government.
