Ukraine is the largest country in Europe, but one of the least visited, rewarding visitors with friendly people, magnificent architecture and miles of gently rolling steppes. Our weekly Ukraine Discovery starts in the beautiful city of Lviv, said to be the new Prague (without the masses of tourists). From Lviv we will make a side trip to the little visited Carpathian National Nature Park, which is Ukraine's largest such park and home to the Hutsuls people, descendents of a nomadic horde. We then head for the capital by train, using the Grand Tour vintage sleeping car attached to the overnight express bound for Kiev. We will have time to explore the capital and recommend you include the optional ecotour to the site of the world’s worst environmental disaster in history, Chernobyl.
