Taiwan Discovery Tour Rating: Hidden Luxury We have two pricing options for this tour. You can choose either 4* or 5*. The tour remains the same on each option, only the hotel differs. Taiwan Luxury Discovery Tour 13 nights / 14 days Day 1 - Depart UK Depart this evening from London Heathrow on your flight to Taipei, Taiwan. Day 2 - Arrive Taiwan This morning you arrive into Taipei Taoyuan International airport. You will be met after customs by our English speaking guide and transferred to your hotel. The rest of your day is free to relax. Overnight at The Landis (5*) or City Crown (4*), Taipei No Meals included today Day 3 - Taipei After breakfast, you will be taken on a Taipei City tour. The highlights included the Martyrs’ Shrine, National Palace Museum and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. No city tour is complete without seeing Taipei 101 Observatory – the tallest building in the world! Overnight at The Landis (5*) or City Crown (4*), Taipei Breakfast is included today Day 4 - Northern Coast Tour This morning we travel to Yang Ming Shan National Park, with its majestic mountains, hot springs, tall grasses, forests of bamboo and broad-leaved trees. A truly inspiring sight, especially during the flowering season (Late February to early April). The other major attraction of Yang Ming Shan is the hot springs throughout the park that are formed due to the sulphur steam vents. On your return to Taipei, you will visit the Shih-Lin Night Market. Overnight at The Landis (5*) or City Crown (4*), Taipei Breakfast is included today Day 5 - Taipei to Sun Moon Lake Today we head south to the mesmerizing beauty of Sun Moon Lake. You will be accompanied by your guide on a drive around the Lake to visit Wen-Wu Temple, Tehua Village and the Tse-En Pagoda. Overnight at The Lalu (5*) or The Richforest (4*) Sun Moon Lake Breakfast is included today Day 6 - Sun Moon Lake We take a 1 ½ hour cruise to visit the Lalu islet, the aboriginal people’s sacred place. There is also a visit to Hsuan Kuang Temple with the remainder of the day free for you to enjoy the facilities of the Lalu or you could choose to visit Puli, the geographic centre of Taiwan. Overnight at The Lalu (5*) or The Richforest (4*), Sun Moon Lake Breakfast is included today Day 7 - Fo Guang Shan We leave Sun Moon Lake to visit Tainan, the old capital of Taiwan. After stops at Chih-Kan Tower and Fort An-Ping, we keep driving south to the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Monastery. We have a tour of the monastery to learn about Buddhism and get to stay overnight at the Pilgrim’s Lodge of the Monastery. Overnight at Pilgrim’s Lodge of the Monastery of Fo Guang Shan. Breakfast is included today together with a vegetarian dinner at the Pilgrim’s Lodge. Day 8 - Kenting National Park The journey continues today to Kenting National Park, where we visit Mao-Pi-Tou (Cat Nose tip), Oluanpi Light House and Kenting Forest Park. Overnight at the Caesar Park Hotel (5*) or Leofoo Resort (4*), Kenting A vegetarian Breakfast is included today Day 9 - Kenting National Park A free day at your own leisure to enjoy the sunshine and sandy beach, or you could choose to visit Heng-Chun and Chia-Lo-Shui. Your English speaking guide/driver will be at your disposal. Overnight at the Caesar Park Hotel (5*) or Leofoo Resort (4*), Kenting Breakfast is included today Day 10 - Chihpen Hot Spring Leaving behind Kenting National Park we start our journey back north to Kaohsiung to visit Fokuangshan Buddhist Monastery and Kaohsiung Night Market. Overnight at Hotel Royal (5*) or Toong Mao Hotel (4*), Chihpen Breakfast is included today Day 11 - Caves of the Eight Immortals This morning we proceed to Hualien along the east coast. We have stops at Hsiao-Yehliu, Stone Umbrella, the Caves of the Eight Immortals and Pachi Scenic Lookout. A visit to the Ami Tribe Aboriginal Culture Village in the evening with song and dance performances. Overnight at the Parkview Hotel (5*) or China Trust Hotel (4*), Hualien Breakfast is included today Day 12 - Taroko Gorge We visit the world famous Taroko National Park with stops at the Taroko Gorge Gateway, Swallow Grotto, Eternal Spring Shrine, Tunnel of Nine Turns and Tienhsiang. Our return to Taipei in the afternoon is via the scenic Su-Hua Highway and Hsuei-Shan Tunnel (12.9 KM, the longest in Asia and 5th longest in the World) Overnight at The Landis (5*) or City Crown (4*), Taipei Breakfast is included today Day 13 - Taipei and departure You will be transferred to the international airport to check-in for your over night flight back to the UK.
