Local arrangements were very efficiently handled. Excellent local driver. Food was of good quality. Highlights include Halabja and the Red House Suleimaniyah. Yes, this is the right time to go before Erbil becomes a Dubai and a collection of 5 star hotels behind gates.

Some positives (of many). St Matthew's Monastery - wonderful setting and views; extremely well restored. Lalish - our visit co-incided with a Yazidi feast day. Quite an experience. Halabja - a moving and humbling memorial to the slaughtered. Balen Zrer - an excellent guide. The driver - safe, in a country of lunatic drivers.
