Due to the devastating civil war that racked Angola for nearly 30 years, it is a destination often known for the horrors of the landmine rather than its many spectacular natural attractions. Our carefully researched itinerary offers the unique opportunity of safely exploring a hidden and diverse land. You will discover a dramatic coastline, desert oasis, national parks, salt marshes and magical lagoons, home to an astonishing abundance of bird and marine life.
This is the Angola we are keen to promote, a proud country and people with a new sense of overwhelming optimism. Today’s Angola is stable and our chosen area of operations; the very southern part of the country awaits discovery by the intrepid traveller. Experienced travellers agree, southern Angola offers many of the attractions and a similar experience as its popular neighbour, Namibia. The only difference is that travelling with us in Angola is a special experience that only a handful of pioneering travellers are lucky enough to discover.
At Undiscovered Destinations we strongly support the work being carried out by organisations such as the Mines Advisory Group. Clearing the country of land mines and unexploded ordnance is an enormous task and one that we are keen to support. In 2005 we gave a financial donation to MAG as a sign of our commitment to this cause.
